1998:
Orsys declares IEEE 1394 as the second most important technology besides DSP.
Orsys starts sales of the 1394 COMPLETE evaluation kit and wins many first
designs from various companies starting with embedded IEEE 1394 technology.
Orsys becomes distributor of UNIBRAIN PC based IEEE 1394 solutions.
Emerging Projects:
Orsys starts development of the Front End Electronic system for the NASA X-38
crew rescue vehicle. During the orbital mission and orbit re-entry, approximately
1000 analog and digital channels are acquired fully synchronously by the
FEE system, consisting of 10 boxes which are distributed over the vehicle.
60 DSPs, connected over an IEEE 1394 network manage this huge challenge.
